Job Overview:
Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
What you’ll do:
- Areas of responsibility will include administrative, supervisory, technical and educational.
- Coordinates and facilities continuing educational opportunities and orientation as required for existing and newly hired staff including technologist, technicians, office staff and other staff as identified
- The Charge Medical Technologist communicates with and functions as a direct resource to diagnostic service operations to the Diagnostic Services Director within the Region and functions as a resource to all staff.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, leadership team members, charge technologist and diagnostic staff, educational institutions such as Red River College, as well as hospital resource staff to support external and internal educational programs.
- Under the general direction of the Shared Health Director, Manager, or Designate, the Charge Medical Technologist is responsible for the daily operation of their assigned area(s) of responsibility employing multiple staff and/or supervising and overseeing multiple locations.
- The incumbent will be an integral member of a provincial team focused on education of student and on-going education and competency assessment of staff.
- Travel to other Diagnostic Services Departments sites within the Province, using a personal vehicle, will be required.
- Works with clinical staff and management to implement appropriate programming.

- Training program knowledge helpful.
- Must demonstrate tact, courtesy and understanding to patients, visitors, staff and students.
- Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the positions.
- Must be a Registered Radiology Technologist and maintain active registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and the Manitoba Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (MAMRT).
- Microsoft Office programs required.
- Minimum five years recent extensive work experience in a related area including supervisory and/or administrative experience required.
- Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence, access to a personal vehicle to provide service within the Province.
- Advanced academic achievement (e.g. A.R.T. or B.Sc.) preferred.
- Communication skills to handle professionally all department communications and interactions with other health care professionals at various levels from both within and outside of the department.
- Completion of a formal management training program or health care administration course is an asset.
- Ability to effectively work under pressure.
- Experience in coordinating and /or delivering adult education / training preferred.
- Leadership skills to coordinate work flow, supervise and promote teamwork.
- Ability to facilitate change in a positive and productive manner.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Graduate of an approved Medical Radiography program with attained certification by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
