Job Overview:
We are looking for a UX Writer to join one of our Category teams in Digital Retail. This team is focused on designing experiences on BestBuy.ca to help customers find the best product for their needs at the right price point.
As a UX Writer on this team, you will be strategizing, designing, and generating copy to support retail-focused initiatives and experiences, allow customers to navigate BestBuy.ca with confidence (helping them to find the products, services, and information they’re looking for with ease), and lay out any information in a clear, concise, and empathetic manner.
What you’ll do:
- Collaboration: Collaborate daily with peers in every discipline: Digital Retail Manager (DRM), Digital Designers, UX Designers, Marketing specialist, Scrum Master in service of building the category experience
- Content Design: Define what content a customer needs at each touchpoint to make a purchase decision and writing that content
- Content Strategy: Design, write, edit, test, and improve the content that makes the experience for our customers easier to use
- User Research and Evaluation: Leveraging user research techniques (e.g., usability testing and analytics) to better understand our customers and how they engage with our site to evolve and iterate experiences
- Information Architecture: Define the right filtering approach and IA for a category based on customer shopping needs
- UX Writing: Guide our customers on their journey with Best Buy by means of crafted copy
What you’ll have:
- An ability to embrace change with positivity and enthusiasm
- 1+ years of experience as a UX writer, preferably with experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Good stakeholder management skills
- An understanding of user-centered design principles and how copy fits into the customer journey
- A collaborative mindset that allows you to build trust and accountability
- Proficiency in writing copy that’s clear and concise
- An undergraduate degree (or advanced certification and related experience): Digital media management, information systems, information science, journalism, or other social sciences with emphasis on human-computer interaction
- Time management skills that allow you to work fast and smart
