Position Summary:
Tesla is looking for an experienced and dynamic Utility Field Service Technician to work on one of the largest Battery Energy Storage systems in the world, as part of our Energy Products Infrastructure Service team.
Tesla needs a talented and highly skilled technician ready to move quickly in order to keep our systems fully operational.
The primary role is to service, troubleshoot, and upgrade stationary battery equipment and medium to high voltage equipment.
You will be part of a high performing and tight knit team on site.
This role would suit a high performer who is looking to make the transition to renewable energy storage, one of the fastest growing market sectors.
This role will be based in Griffith, NSW, with some travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks requiring a high level of skill and patience
- Have flexibility to provide support outside your region and possibly outside the country as required
- Comfortable and able to work with Medium and High Voltage environments while maintaining a safety focus
- Maintain high levels of communication and feedback within the Tesla Energy service organization; prepare daily updates of work completed, problems identified, and future timelines.
- Actively work across Powerpack and Megapack Utility sites, ensuring operations & maintenance requirements are met, maintaining a healthy fleet that is performing optimally
- Perform other related duties as assigned per our growth and diversity across applications
- Develop and follow best practices and procedures for various maintenance activities related to Tesla Energy equipment
- Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools and LV/MV/HV test equipment for diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical debug, rework and repair
Required Education & Experience:
- Must have HV switching certification and experience
- Must have up to date Electrical Registration/Licence
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to work from complex and detailed documentation and/or verbal and written instructions depending on situation
- Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
- SCADA operating experience is a plus
- Ability to maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance
- Ability to communicate and function well in a mobile office setting
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, test equipment
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public
- Strong computer skills, ability to utilise proprietary and 3rd party OEM software
- Minimum 5 years’ experience, with at least 3 years’ electrical experience within the Utility sector (Solar/Wind experience is preferred)
- Certified Electrician (Cert III (3)+ in Electrical/Electro Technology)
