Job Overview:
The Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist within the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre Holter and Stress Clinic will work in collaboration with the inter-professional team in the assessment, planning and delivery of safe and quality patient care. The responsibilities will include Holter monitor acquisition, troubleshooting and management of Northeast, GE and GE 12 lead monitors at our two clinics located at Toronto General and Toronto Western hospital. In addition, the responsibilities include analyzing of Holter reports, performing Graded Exercise Tests, Pharmacologic and Ergometer stress tests. The technologist will be required to practice in a collaborative and patient centered role that complies with departmental and hospital policies, in order to deliver safe and efficient patient care.
What you’ll have:
- Previous experience in various Stress testing modalities; Treadmill, Pharmacological and Ergometer.
- Ability to meet patient care needs
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
- Computer literacy; E-Faxing, emailing and electronic documentation.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology
- Ability to multi-task
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S)
- Minimum 1 year experience related to Cardiac diagnostic testing in a similar setting
- Experience in IV insertion and maintenance
- At minimum, completion of a recognized 2 year Cardiac Technologist Diploma program
- Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
- CSCT (Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists) registration
- Effective time management skills, ability to organize work and set priorities
- Ability to work as an autonomous professional
- Knowledge of hospital emergency codes and procedures.
- Previous experience in Holter monitor scanning with Northeast and GE systems is an asset.
