Position Summary:

In this position, you will independently plan, develop, design and conduct courses, coordinate curriculum development, conduct research and participate in training committees

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing input on reviews and evaluations of audiovisual aids that most effectively and efficiently enhance training;
  • Locating and scheduling appropriate classroom space and equipment;
  • Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
  • Supervising or administering a training program.
  • Completing training needs assessment, develops and delivers training, evaluates the effectiveness of training, and coordinates the packaging of training materials and revises or develops new courses based on this feedback and evaluations.
  • Organizing, monitoring and/or providing advice and assistance to staff on appropriate training topics from a variety of traditional sources;
  • Assisting senior specialists with development of content for training/course materials, and evaluations of training results;
  • Creating, organizing, planning, and presenting various forms of on-boarding, orientation, and skills training for employees and customers.
  • Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
  • Coordinating with team members in the development, delivery, and revision of training to ensure curricula syncs according to target audience’s needs.
  • Coordinating with team lead to revise instructional formats, methodology and utilization of current technology to meet specific educational and programmatic requirements.
  • Providing input on technical Reviews materials, which include instructional objectives, Plans of Instruction (POI), instructor guides, and student manuals and revises as necessary.
  • Researching the broad spectrum of federal grant processes for current technologies that support training needs and assist team lead in the revision of instructional formats, methodology and utilization of technology to meet specific educational and programmatic requirements.
  • Development or review of training/ course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.

Required Education & Experience:

  • You qualify for this position at the GS-11 level (starting salary $74,950) if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-09) in the Federal Service, in at least three (3) of the following areas. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.

  • Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study — education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. (Transcripts are required, unofficial is acceptable.)
  • You qualify for this position at the GS-12 level (starting salary $89,834) if you possess the following: the requirements for the GS-11 level, plus one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11) in the Federal Service in the areas identified below. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation.
  • Selective Service registration required.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
  • 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
