Position Summary:

To support all Base and Line operations by providing safe, reliable, efficient, and cost effective aircraft tooling equipment and support in a timely manner by specifying, designing or modifying equipment to perform the necessary task

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for CATIA/Enovia and/or 3D Experience upgrades, training, and customer support for the organization.
  • Extensive and specialized ability to read and understand basic and complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members and other organizations to provide CATIA designs for routine and expedite projects.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T per ASME 14.5.
  • Ensure that safety, regulatory requirements, ergonomic factors and manufacturability considerations are incorporated in all tool designs.
  • Follow tool engineering policies and procedures to achieve the highest level of quality in compliance with division policy and Federal Air Regulations.
  • Design, specify, approve, and/or modify mechanical/electronic aircraft tooling as necessary to support customer and OEM requirements.
  • Develop and assure all documentation has been processed as necessary to assure proper acceptance, compliance and implementation of the equipment.
  • Design complex mechanical/electronic test equipment/stands or OEM equivalent designs.
  • Coordinate with users to provide project development, justification and funding approval for new tooling resources.
  • Develop and apply engineering theories, methods, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex/advanced CATIA/Enovia and/or 3DExperience technical design issues.
  • Function as a Technical Checker for all mechanical/electronic designs generated by other team members.
  • Provide Finite Element Analysis to support new/revised tool engineering designs.

Required Education & Experience:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering ( Mechanical or Electrical) or 5+ years of experience working as an engineer or designer.

  • Entry level to 5 years of engineering experience
  • Enovia
  • Ability to travel
  • Filemaker Pro
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must have CAD & design experience
  • ABAQUS CAE
  • CATIA V5, V6, or 3DExperience
  • A & P License preferred
