Position Summary:

This position in the Permian Basin Asset Development’s Characterize and Define Team (C&D) reports to the New Mexico C&D Reservoir Engineering Functional Lead and provides support to the reservoir engineers as well as the broader C&D organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the C&D organization with factory workflows involving internal and external applications as well as the stewardship of data within the applications.
  • Providing data management and analytics support to Petrotechs responsible for UCR production forecasting, reserves/resource bookings, and reservoir management.
  • Supporting the C&D team with permitting requirements and monitoring competitor activity through monthly data pulls (e.g. permit submissions, hearing orders) from the New Mexico OCD system.
  • Compiling data from third party sites (e.g. Rystad, IHS, Enverus/Drilling Info) for competitor analysis, gathering fracture job reports from service companies for simulation studies, supporting playbook updates, and assisting with documentation requirements for technical assurance reviews.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in applicable STEM discipline
  • Able to support Petrotech requests involving multiple internal and external applications; prior experience with Enersight is highly recommended.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders across organizational boundaries and able to operate effectively within a team.
  • Exhibits effective time management and work prioritization to manage multiple tasks without difficulty and meet deadlines.
  • Able to use Visual Basic and Python to simplify data management.
  • Fluent in database architecture, extraction, and analytics.
  • Displays strong verbal and written communication skills needed to communicate progress to key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of Bureau of Land Management drilling rules and regulation and knowledge of New Mexico specific rules and regulations is a plus.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably working Permian or other UCR assets
  • Capable of handling a diverse workload that involves allocating time to support more than one team, but also working independently with minimal daily supervision.
