Position Summary:
This role will work partnering with Agile Product Category(APC) teams that develops, delivers and supports customer facing applications that have a direct impact on revenue streams. The ideal Product Owner, will have worked in an Agile / Scrum / Kanban environment, partnered with business stakeholders (Product Owners, Product Managers) in defining agile requirements (Epics/Stories) and enabling agile teams to deliver.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts research, performs studies to obtain data; and analyzes problems to advise on or recommend solutions, utilizing knowledge of theory, principles
- Decides when to go to production and owns or collaborates on the “”Go To Market”” plan
- The ideal candidate works closely with the APC and development teams to ensure that the team clearly understands the required functionality to meet market needs.
- Works with the Squad Lead to execute the biweekly Iteration Planning Meeting”
- Collaborates with designers on the overall user experience, attends playbacks with sponsor users and stakeholders, and collaborates through user testing.
- Manages and makes visible the product backlog, or the prioritized list of requirements for future product development
- Represents the customer to the development team
- Being available to the development team to answer any questions team members have regarding the customer’s needs and the customer’s views of how the team is implementing a product feature
- Accepts user stories; that is, decides when a user story has delivered the outcome.
- Prioritizes by iterating the order of items in the product backlog
- Defines, writes, and ranks the user stories that direct the design and development work
- Collaborates with product, project and development stakeholders and teams, gathering requirements, coordinating dependencies and identifying risks and opportunities
- Leads story grooming sessions or requirements clarifications sessions
- Owns the scope of the project, works with Business sponsors, Sponsor users, identifies personas, defines the minimum viable product (MVP), and defines hypotheses
Required Education & Experience:
- Ability to work with multiple IT and business teams to gather and document API requirements
- Candidate must have the ability to deliver quality work on time and translate planning into action by following applicable established procedures or methodologies
- Experience in API practice/program at a large organization
- Must possess the technical expertise to apply relevant technical processes to appropriate business needs
- Demonstrated experience with Agile or other rapid application development methods
- Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with management, staff and customers as well as demonstrate sound judgment/reasoning skills
- Strong experience in discovery, identification, and documentation of APIs
- Ability to work independently to achieve exceptional results
- Experience developing requirements and test scenarios for automated test suites for APIs
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, customer service skills, customer focus
- Must also have the ability to proactively monitor and control task status by collecting and analyzing task data to anticipate and address barriers
- 3 – 5 years of project coordination and previous airline business experience is preferred
