Position Summary:
You will supervise the Michoud Assembly Facility Operations Office (MAF) for the Office of Center Operations at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) and oversee the manufacture and assembly of critical hardware components for exploration vehicles under development at MSFC and other NASA centers. MAF is located in New Orleans East, a district within New Orleans, LA,
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as an assistant contracting officer representative (ACOR) and oversees the work of contractors.
- Prepares overall status reports including technical, budget and schedule; presents and defends report information to top Center/Agency management.
- Supervises the Staff assigned to the Office of Center Operations supporting Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF).
- Acquires, operates, and maintains institutional and program support equipment.
- Represents the Office of Center Operations to the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) Integration and Operations Office coordinating daily programmatic support services and resolving issues or challenges that arise.
- Performs project planning, development, analysis, and forecasting; analyzes and manages project resources, objectives, and schedules.
Required Education & Experience:
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level
- Managing activities related to facilities engineering including project planning and evaluation, cost, schedule and program controls;
- Overseeing the work of contractors, the contracting of facility services, and managing facilities contracts;
- Managing projects and resources including contractor performance;
- Performing risk assessments and mitigation, including assessment of vulnerabilities and their consequences;
- Authoring status reports and briefing senior management on systemic or problematic issues regarding facilities services and readiness.
