Position Summary:
In this position, you will provide senior-level technical and administrative supervision at the regional level to a staff that deals with the determination of short and long-range planning and preparedness resources through on-going inter-Agency communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing large transformations in organizing, integrating, and coordinating preparedness activities and investments that integrate key organizational goals, priorities, values, etc.
- Leading Federal inter-agency coordination activities across the Region and State with high-threat metropolitan areas for improved delivery of preparedness programs with state, local and tribal government entities, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and citizens.
- Reviewing and rating performance, initiating personnel actions, approving leave, interviewing and selecting key subordinates, providing necessary training, settling employee grievances and recommending disciplinary actions.
- Building and maintaining organizational collaborations related to Preparedness, Risk Management, and/or Public Health and Safety with internal and external stakeholders;
- Leading and managing a workforce in the enhancement of national preparedness, incident management, and critical infrastructure;
- Exercising significant responsibility in dealing with officials of other Federal departments and agencies, State, local and tribal governments, and in advising the Regional Administrator on preparedness issues.

- You qualify for this position at the GS-15 level (starting salary $145,831) if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-14) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer
- You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
