Job Overview:
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for becoming a subject-matter expert on the procurement industry, identifying business opportunities, risks, and trends, and staying updated on marketplace changes. The successful candidate will perform internal analytics and external research, then collect, organize, and present this information to stakeholders for plan development and identification of their requirements. This role will collaborate with multiple internal teams and external partners to optimize costs and ensure all signed agreements protect Best Buy’s interests.
What you’ll do:
- Complete financial reporting on savings opportunities and pipeline
- Negotiate contracts, ensuring all contracts meet internal requirements from the Legal Department and optimize costs for the company
- Recommend solutions for best value proposition for the company, while considering all factors (including total cost of ownership)
- Optimize costs and drive related programs within the purchasing process
- Participate in development of stakeholders’ plans and requirements
- Facilitate RFPs, according to industry standards and company policies
- Facilitate appropriate supplier agreements and take ownership for contract routing, including providing internal contract guidance and expertise as needed
- Conduct internal analytics and external research to identify market and business opportunities
What you’ll have:
- Strong communication skills among clients of varying seniority levels (including executives)
- Technology/IT buying experience
- Experience in structuring, writing, and editing legal contracts for large, complex organizations
- Demonstrated negotiation skills, influence, and business acumen
- SCMP designation
- Experience in long-term supplier or client relationship management
- Bachelor’s degree
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel Skills
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field of study
