Position Summary:

In this position, you will provide the day-to-day administrative security support for the Office of the Chief Security Officer, Administrative Security Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Division Directors or Branch Chiefs with human resource functions including recruiting, new hires and associated administrative activities.
  • Providing advice to managers concerning non- controversial management survey/study findings and influence managers or other officials to accept and implement findings and recommendations which may affect program resources or existing administrative operations.
  • Performing counterintelligence and security administrative management functions; AND
  • Preparing written correspondence or presentations [responses to congressional inquiries, memos, emails, reports, power point presentations, spreadsheets, or documents] for senior government officials; AND
  • Resolving conflicting internal administrative problems and issues.
  • Serving as a liaison and coordinating with professionally, respecting and valuing individual congressional, organizational and individuals associated with the organization.
  • Applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues and problems concerning the efficiency of substantive administrative support functions involved internal to division operations, to plan and conduct management survey/studies, identify problems, develop corrective actions. and follow through to problem resolution.
  • Performing administrative functions including timekeeping, travel order processing, procurement activities, files and record maintenance, information distribution, and budget administration activities.

Required Education & Experience:

  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and provides valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
  • Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
  • Selective Service registration required.
  • You qualify for this position at the GS-12 level (starting salary $89,834) if you possess the following: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
