Position Summary:
NextEra Energy is seeking a technical individual to be part of the FPL Power Generation team. This Sr. PGD Engineer position shall be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of large scale universal solar facilities within the panhandle region of the state of Florida and based in Blountstown, FL, Marianna, FL, Milton, FL or Defuniak Springs, FL. This position will report to the Panhandle Engineering Leader (Regional Manager II), under the Power Generation Team, and will work primarily on assets near their based region. Travel to other locations within the Panhandle region will also be required.
This individual is responsible as the site safety manager to ensure all personnel and equipment onsite are safe and that the site/s are in environmental compliance with all required regulatory permit requirements. Under limited guidance, the individual will be responsible for the safe and reliable operation of several solar and storage assets requiring the individual to perform a variety of routine tasks including preventative and corrective maintenance, coordinating contractors, OEMs and other vendor services. Sr. PGD Engineers on the FPL solar team can spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside) troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our solar facilities. At times, the Sr. PGD Engineer will be on-call and will be required to coordinate with the Renewables Operations Control Center (ROCC). This role will also be required to lead Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) and perform data analysis with the support of a centralized engineering support team to maximize asset performance.

- Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual’s field
