Position Summary:

To develop and manage a strategy and operating model that supports the growth and development of the Old Mutual Insure Specialty business through developing, implementing and managing a fit-for-purpose operational excellence capability. Manage the operations, risk and compliance and policy administration systems which supports a comprehensive range of fit for purpose and best in class specialty insurance products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain service, quality, and desired outputs across the business process by ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.
  • Identify solutions to enhance cost control, increase operational efficiency and manage operating budget goals.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of a flexible yet sustainable and appropriate organizational architecture for the Operations Division.
  • Determine the business value chain for the Operations Division and drive the cascading of the business value chain into the departments within Operations.
  • Drive the internal product testing process.
  • Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules in order to manage achievement of service delivery goals.
  • In collaboration with underwriting, risk and compliance manage the development and maintenance of a winning product development lifecycle capability.
  • Establish a strategic Balanced Scorecard focused on the implementation, measuring and management of the organizational strategy and drive the cascading of the scorecard into the departments within Operations.
  • Ensure statutory and legislative knowledge is always current in order to resolve customer complaints, to advise the business on corrective solutions to mitigate risks and to improve the customer experience whilst complying with governance requirements.
  • Drive the development, planning and implementation of a winning and fit-for-purpose strategy for the Operations Division.
  • Establish productive operational relationships with key stakeholders in the various channels and administrative teams.
  • Drive the development, enhancement, maintenance, and implementation of TIA system bespoke to Specialty product Lines.
  • Develop and drive the implementation of Re-Insurance Model and systems applicable to Specialty Division.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, practices, and procedures.
  • In collaboration with the business development, contribute to the development and maintenance of a winning customer lifecycle capability.
