Position Summary:
Chevron Technical Center’s (CTC) Reservoir Engineering and Simulation Discipline is looking for candidates to join our high-performing & diverse Reservoir Simulation Development and Environment Chapter through August 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal and external research organizations.
- Work closely with research team to collaborate on R&D and commercialize mature research items into commercial products, and also with support teams to improve engineering products based on user feedback.
- Develop & execute R&D projects on leading-edge reservoir simulation and optimization technologies to support Chevron’s higher return and lower carbon goals.
Required Education & Experience:
- Fluent in compositional & thermal simulation, fracture modeling, shale & tight physics, chemical EOR, optimization, and/or flow-geomechanics coupling.
- Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or related areas with strong knowledge in reservoir simulation and optimization.
- Strong skills of using ML/AI to accelerate performance, discrete fractured reservoir modeling, and knowledge of physics required for CCUS and energy transition are plus.
- Software development skills using C++, python, HPC and cloud computing frameworks.
- Good communication skills and work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated R&D experience in advanced reservoir simulation, improved/enhanced oil recovery, unconventional reservoirs, and optimization a plus.
