Position Summary:

The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Remote Pilot is responsible for UAS Program development, support, equipment maintenance, research, flight plan creation, supporting UAS training, certification, observation and operation of UAV flights to support business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues
  • Works with others to optimize preventive maintenance programs
  • Performs and ensures all required pre/post-flight operational checklists and inspections are completed
  • Creates and maintains documentation related to procedures and processes
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in area of field
  • Extracts, collects and formats data to populate reports, files or databases
  • Performs data quality assurance to ensure accurate data is used in reports, databases and files
  • Ensures work in assigned area is completed on time, within budget and quality expectations while adhering to safety and regulatory compliance

Required Education & Experience:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products – for example Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access – as needed to perform at the job level
  • AUVSI-Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International Trusted Operator Program Level 2 Certification, or similar
  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • FAA Part 107 Current, Remote Pilot Certificate, Small UAS-Unmanned Aerial Systems
  • Knowledge of flight plans, protocols, sensors, and other technologies for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles as needed to perform at the job level
  • Ability to travel using personal vehicle
  • Ability to apply safety policies, theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
  • Competency in developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Bachelors Degree in Aeronautics or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience with UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, maintenance or build
  • CA Class C License, or equivalent
  • Experience with UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, various sensors
  • Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, multi-rotor platforms
  • Skill in facilitating discussions and meetings as needed to perform at the job level
  • Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, commercial, 150 hours
