Position Summary:

Infinity Services Partner Company is a Managed Services Business, wholly owned by and a fully-fledged subsidiary of Vodacom. Infinity Services Partner Company is looking for a Senior Specialist: IT & Business Demand. To transform business needs into projects and manage the demand portfolio, interact with stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of business, client, and IT technology strategy. To ensure the planning and prioritizing of the most effective manner to achieve optimal usage of technology resources and deliver maximum business benefit to internal Business Units, Service Providers, and Clients. Conduct regular monitoring of the planning and execution of the optimally selected projects in consultation with the sponsor. Evaluating the strategic alignment, cost performance of demand management, and various ways for improving it. Comparing the demand execution capacity of the Infinity group and partners. Providing recommendations to decision-makers at every level of the process management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting of all IT demand-related issues to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • To initiate, participate and contribute (at a high level) to any ongoing business activity which will create substantial IT demand.
  • Prepare and maintain a project portfolio view for upcoming projects with IT expenditure to facilitate decision-making.
  • Actively maintain IT Operations Development capacity balance to ensure Business Unit initiatives and Capability enables the optimal utilization of resources to realize business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a project and enhancement roadmap aligned with business priority, IT capacity, technical dependencies, and ongoing project portfolio utilizing Program Increment (PI).
  • Drive and Define the IT Capex Annual Planning for IT Operations.
  • Develop, define and implement the overall IT demand management structure & processes in agreement with the overall IT Strategy.
  • Drive Business prioritization in Preparation for the PI (Program Increment), based on the Business Units Strategic Roadmap against company strategy, budget and capacity constraints (balancing demand against supply capacity).
  • Liaise with the stakeholders to shape and implement the demand management processes and regular liaison/relationship management interactions.
  • Manage a group of subject matter experts working with the business units & clients regarding their IT demand and IT deliveries.
  • Manage the relationship with the business units/vendors & clients concerning new requirements (projects, system enhancement requests, availability, disaster recovery requirements, capacity requirements, etc.)
  • Align business strategy, and goals, to the IT Architecture and digital transformation within the Infinity Services Partner.
  • Develop KPIs for Demand Management and dashboards and regular reports to create transparency and track change requests and new demand.
  • Embrace and lead the adoption of AGILE delivery practices, and ensure an engaged and motivated team.

What you’ll have:

  • At Least 5-8 years experience in project management / Agile Methodology of larger IT projects.
  • Previous experience in release management and exposure to IT operations management, and good knowledge of IT governance processes.
  • A relevant 3yr Degree/Diploma in a technical subject is essential.
  • Knowledge of Contract & Budget management.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of telecommunication experience is essential.
  • Ability to listen, build rapport, and credibility as a strategic partner vertically within the business unit, as well as with leadership and functional.
  • Highly skilled and experienced at negotiating conflict and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes at executive and Client levels.
  • Matric is essential.
  • A strong driver for IT Projects/Programmes Delivery and Implementation.
