Job Overview:
ADNOC Global Trading’s (AGT) Senior Specialist Credit Risk Control is responsible for front line credit and risk ownership , performing credit analysis, modeling projection and enterprise valuation analysis, coordinating with internal stakeholders, client engagement on credit risk and structuring, and delivering sound recommendations based on robust business, relationship, and industry analysis using expert judgment and conforming with internal credit policies/guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain counterparty exposure
- Contribute to the Assessments of NPA and NSDAs for the introduction of new business
- Ensure that external brokers and exchanges have correct limits and credit terms for each CP
- Provide market research including economic and financial market analysis relating to liquidity, credit risks and collateral
- Ensure that counterparties in the trading system have completed Credit and KYC checks before being released for trading
- Build manage and develop Credit Control team in Abu Dhabi and act as functional lead for all other Global Product Control teams
- Summarize monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packs for internal management and board of directors
- Work with Product Control to ensure compliance at trade entry
- Develop and implement exposure measurement controls and methods
- Coordinate the credit process with the relevant coverage, product and risk teams to ensure an efficient turnaround of transactions.
- Annual review of existing counterparty limits and monitoring credit exposures
- Analyze counter party and collateral data to determine key areas of Risks and prepare effective credit risk reporting.
- Conducting real time, ongoing monitoring of counterparty developments/market changes, providing recommendations and opinions on establishment of limits and upgradation / down gradation of credit limits (incl. one time temporary changes in limit)
- Ensure that Cargoes are not released without appropriate credit collaterial or limits in place
- Assist in control testing for the monthly Management Control Assessments (MCA) process
- Enhance, maintain and design new and existing portfolio views of collateral that can be used as early indicators to ensure the AGT is aware of potential risks and mitigants as apprioriate.
- Work with the Trade finance and Operations teams to ensure that trade finance/insurance/collateral is in place before trading commences or cargoes are released.
- Co-ordination with HO Middle Office, Middle Office Managers, analysts and traders to resolve queries / issues
Required Education & Experience:
- Communications – must have strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to clearly articulate and both support and challenge ideas and recommendations. Strong relationship skills and can proactively engage with senior management colleagues at all levels.
- Risk knowledge – risk management methodologies including stress testing and VaR measurement, risk analysis techniques, proficiency in fundamental credit analysis with an emphasis on financial statements and current trends impacting business issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Engineering or Finance. MBA preferred
- Well informed of world product demand and supply, market dynamics
- 7+ years experience in Risk Management within a Middle Office
- Commodities trading knowledge – understand trading strategies, basic knowledge of trading fundamentals, global markets, arbitrage, market climate, keeps up to date with international events and geo-political climate
- Experienced in building and using models
