Position Summary:

As a Senior Project Manager on FPL’s Development team, you will explore the possibilities distributed energy and transportation electrification are creating for the utility and work on the cutting edge of shaping and implementing FPL’s mobility strategy for fleets. You will responsible for leading the origination, development and execution of fleet mobility projects. In this role you are expected to lead origination efforts with FPL’s customers. This includes identifying potential prospects, initiating introductions, and pitching FPL electrification offerings, working closely to understand charging needs and develop the appropriate plan to electrify their fleet, and ultimately executing fleet tariff agreements. We are looking for a results-driven candidate with self-motivation and strong interpersonal, presentation, and project management skills. This role will include travel, throughout the state of Florida, up to 25% as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Established record of accomplishment managing and delivering multiple simultaneous projects ahead of schedule while adhering to the highest quality and standards
  • Advanced knowledge of site acquisition procedures, including regulatory and permitting processes
  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
  • Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
  • Ability to function autonomously, working independent of a support staff, without formal requirements documentation, in a fast-paced environment; ability to manage changing priorities
  • Review title reports for ownership, encumbrances, and easements; work with key stakeholders assess construction viability
  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
  • Facilitate field site visits for due diligence on construction, engineering, utility, and cost. Provide site reports and sketches as needed
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Aptitude in communicating and building relationships with property owners, local jurisdictions, utility companies and other stakeholders throughout the project cycle
  • Self-starter approach to challenging the status quo; innovative ideas that improve our: designs, processes, assemblies, costs, or the company as a whole
  • Plan, coordinate, approve, and review legal documents and plans for right-of-way/easement/property acquisitions
  • Manage all phases of design, entitlement, and construction of fleet charging infrastructure sites. A key performance indicator is the number of sites successfully signed/executed
  • Entrepreneurial approach to accomplishing tasks with far fewer resources than a big company would have
  • Ability to identify the critical path issues and institute remedies that shorten that critical path
  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Grad/GED
  • Experience: 5+ years
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
