Lead Capacity Planner – Salesforce Hiring

Position Summary:

Salesforce is seeking a capacity planning analyst to support the ongoing growth of our global customer base. Capacity Planners scope, analyze and forecast the infrastructure demand that power our diverse set of products on a global scale. This role will be part of a team of capacity planning professionals who have experience with understanding systems infrastructure and best practice planning methods to support demand across our multi-substrate (both first party and public cloud) infrastructure footprint and infrastructure stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Present clear findings and recommendations to senior leadership regarding the long range forecast
  • Build a standard and repeatable demand migration process across multiple substrates (both first party and public cloud) that is well developed and communicated across teams.
  • Primary point of contact representing infrastructure engineering with the product organization to ensure they have reliable data to support their service.
  • Conduct scenario analysis based on service engineering roadmap to present effects of new services and shifts in workload on capacity.
  • Coordinate product and service teams so requirements are well understood

Required Education & Experience:

  • Attention to detail with a focus on data quality
  • Experience presenting data in a consistent and repeatable manager to various stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and executive presentation skills needed to partner effectively and convey long range plan
  • Fundamental knowledge of systems infrastructure and how services interact with the underlying hardware
  • Strong analytical skills with experience consolidating complex datasets across various unconnected systems and platforms to tell a clear story.
  • Candidate should have some experience in operations, business intelligence, strategy, capacity planning, financial modeling, analytics or similar positions in a related field
  • BA/BS in Statistics, Economics, Business, Operations, or Computer Science/Engineering is preferred. Equivalent degree, or experience is equally acceptable.
  • Experience in capacity management, planning, forecasting and scheduling is a plus
