Position Summary:
Main purpose is to sign on new business for the branch and recruit a strong sales team to help sign on new business in Cape Town for DSV Air & Sea.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist and support the sales team in preparing and delivering proposals, tenders and presentations to potential clients that are of a high standard
- Provide Quality leads to sales persons
- Ensure required monthly and accumulative targets are met
- To lead, support, coach and develop a team of field sales persons, ensuring that the required new business targets are met as a result of the gaining profitable new clients
- To ensure the adherence by sales persons and the team at large with established policies and procedures
- To build and foster good relations with various other internal and external stakeholders
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends
- Attain new business in the Cape Town area
- Service and maintain existing clients in Cape Town area
- To compile and oversee the completion of required weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting
- To hold prospecting blitz’s and run various campaigns to accelerate the process of gaining new business
Required Education & Experience:
- Must be able to work under pressure
- PSS course qualification
- Previous People Management experience
- Previous experience in a Sales Management position in Freight Forwarding
- Strong administrative and communication skills
- Must have a valid, unendorsed Code 08 driver’s license
- Exposure to SCOR
- Must have a high level of selling and public relations skills
- Must have reliable transport to and from work
- Grade 12
- Neatness, accuracy and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to sell on a strategic, tactical and operational level
- Business Management / Logistics Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
- Punctuality and good time management skills are essential elements for this position
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally when required
- Must be able to build and maintain strong relationships with customers
- Business /Sales Management Diploma
