Position Summary:

This is a Rotating Equipment Monitoring Engineer position in the Chevron Technical Center – Asset Performance Hub, a centralized group of digital, operations and engineering experts ready to partner with Chevron Business Units to address complex, high value opportunities and improve operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The machinery monitoring engineer engages with Business Units on process troubleshooting and identification of long-term trend deviation and equipment degradation.
  • This position also works closely with rotating equipment SMEs throughout the Chevron Technical Center on condition-based monitoring algorithms, equipment improvement opportunities, and troubleshooting bad actors.
  • The successful candidate will team with Chevron Pipeline and Power Gas Turbine Fleet Engineers, Data Scientists, Subject Matter Expert Machinery Engineers and Process Engineers within the Asset Performance Hub to develop and scale predictive analytics and other advanced analysis tools for machinery performance evaluation and early warning detection.
  • Performs remote support through exception-based monitoring of critical rotating and reciprocating machinery performance across Business Units and business segments.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in rotating equipment operation, maintenance, system optimization and machinery vibration analysis. Facilitates change & delivers results through others. Ability to effectively influence others to drive performance. Credible technical leader.
  • Engineering degree is required. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
  • Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
  • 10-15% of travel, if required – Generally limited but could be significant for specific, scheduled work scope (e.g. Outage support, equipment factory testing, Major Capital Project startup support, etc.)
  • Vibration Analysis Certification
