Position Summary:

The Leasing Team is responsible for the leasing of all vacant units across the Emaar Malls, Managed Assets and Joint Venture projects. Additionally, to secure renewal contracts with Dubai Mall, Marina Mall and Communities tenants. To effectively implement specific leasing strategies across all assets and provide pricing policies to ensure maximum revenue and occupancy levels. To develop and grow relationships with retail groups, brand principals and independent retailers. To ensure that deals are documented and executed within the company policies/budgets and develop/maintain effective relationships with associated departments, such as Lease Administration, Finance, Development, Legal, Internal Audit, Facilities & Asset Management. To update and present Leasing results and updates to Executive Management and Joint Venture partners were applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts site visits and works with retailers to maintain compliance to leasing plans, regulations and timeframes for changes
  • Researches and analyses market data within the industry to know a wide range of brands, trends, new concepts and best sellers
  • Works with Finance and legal functions to produce the required documentation for leasing
  • Measures contribution and productivity within the team on a regular basis to maximise financial performance for Emaar malls
  • Understands the market, competition, local environment, demographics, behaviours, habits and potential consumer demands to recommend plans
  • Uses significant knowledge within the industry to recommend leasing decisions in the assigned category specialism
  • Uses retail insights to contribute to overall leasing strategy, plans and actions to achieve Department and company targets
  • Completes assigned tasks within given deadlines
  • Maintains expert knowledge of the retailers, understands their business and develops ongoing business relationships for mutual benefit
  • Produces regular reports on leasing status and performance

Required Education & Experience:

  • Good overall knowledge of retail industry, and leasing for Retail/F&B
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university
  • Experience of analysing data and reports to make retail leasing decisions
  • Experience and record of success in retail leasing
  • Relevant years’ experience working in the specific retail category
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in managerial role, preferably in Middle East market
