Position Summary:

Provides a wide range of quality professional nursing care functions using the Nursing Process with emphasis on direct patient care and related activities.
Provides professional nursing care to the patient, receives supervision and direction from LDU Charge Nurse and Head Nurse. Work is performed on split shift and as required, in Delivery Room unit. Hours are as assigned and may include on call after duty hours.
Ongoing with patients and their families for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing plan of care; with new hire and newly assigned nursing staff for orientation and integration into the nursing unit; routinely with physicians for carrying out physician orders, assisting with medical procedures and reporting changes in the patient’s condition; ongoing with LDU Charge Nurse/Head Nurse for reporting changes in patients’ condition and progress related to plan of care with technical and other support services within medical for direct patient care, patient flow and unit maintenance. Routine contacts with the public through patients, families and visitors.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Personal Requirement: Evidence of good health and good grooming; possesses integrity and sound knowledge; of good moral character; physically active; and pleasing personality.
  • Knowledge/Skills: Broad knowledge of theories and practices in general nursing and specializing in Delivery Room.
  • Language: Fluent in spoken and written English. Spoken Arabic is desirable.
    Operated: Equipment for basic nursing care and specific to Delivery Room
  • License: A registered nurse (RN), BCLS/ACLS certified as appropriate
  • Education: 3-year course in Midwifery after high school graduation; continued to BS in Nursing.
  • Experience: Two years’ current clinical nursing experience following licensure/registration from the country of origin.
