Position Summary:
The provision of specialized O&M engineering services to Operating Units in order to optimize asset performance in the short to medium-term
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides professional technical leadership over engineers within their own discipline.
- Provides a technical consulting and investigation service for customers
- Develops discipline-specific philosophies, technical standards, procedures, work practices and specifications.
- Represent Eskom in national and international technical forums.
- Develops discipline-specific vision, strategy and direction setting for improving OU O&M Engineering Support.
- Provides input into and conducts research to improve O&M operations
- Provides planned (and sometimes unplanned) O& M Engineering Support to the OUs
- Manages and conducts product, equipment, material, service and change impact evaluations
Required Education & Experience:

- Professional Registration body: ECSA Registered Pr. Engineer

- Understanding of Design Base, OTS and Maintenance Base
- Entrepreneurial mind-set
- B.Sc. Eng. /B.Eng. Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronic, Civil, Metallurgical or Industrial Engineering.
- 4 Years related experience in the area of engineering operations & maintenance.
- Superior Analytical and Problem-Solving Ability
- Sound knowledge and understanding of all electrical plant systems, network design and operation
