Position Summary:

This is a public notice for upcoming announcements for FAA Scientific, Technical, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) positions open to U.S. Citizens.

Positions involve the application of professional knowledge and competence in health physics, which is concerned with the protection of persons and their environment from unwarranted exposure to ionizing radiation.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Positions may be filled at any grade level.
  • At least one year (52 weeks) of specialized equivalent to the FV-J pay band (or FG/GS-14 grade level or equivalent in other pay systems) that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position being filled. Examples include but are not limited to: developing fundamental approaches and applying broad health physicist expertise to identify adverse health impacts; providing professional and expert technical direction and assessment in all areas of health physics.
  • Successful completion of security investigation may be required.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Duty location may be negotiable upon request.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • At least one year (52 weeks) of specialized equivalent to the FV-I pay band (or FG/GS-13 grade level or equivalent in other pay systems) that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position being filled. Examples include but are not limited to: providing technical health physics expertise to internal/external customers/stakeholders; reviewing and revising the existing policy guidance directives to ensure compliance applicable to occupational health programs in the aviation/aerospace industry; applies health physics in formulating requirements to integrate new technology into advanced concepts/operations.
