Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to manage and control all coal volumes and qualities from mining to Secunda operations. Requires interphase between Secunda operations and Sasol coal supply, formalizing and tracking mass balances to ensure line off site regarding coal volumes consumed and verifications on qualities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate coal quality figures for Environment and KPI SuPM and report
- Fine coal stock balance for excessive fine coal and reporting
- Three monthly coal value chain reports regarding volumes and qualities
- Management of the weighbridge
- Scorecard management for SM, AM and Foreman
- Calculate performance of actual vs Budget on PG, PG/tDAF and SCS DAF factor and report ton difference
- Write up of the scope for all service providers for RFQ process
- Scale and Instrument verification checks and reporting of deviations
- Calculate PG/tDAF and ST/tDAF and report
- Total mass balance on confirmed tons and quality
- Coal quality checks and report deviations to service provider
- Create and perform SLA with stakeholders
- Report all coal and quality figures in Coal Forum meeting
- CVC Performance
- Service provider monthly reports
- Report on business results to Financial and Management
- Yearly 3rd party audits on all coal mass balances
- Calculate and confirm ROM tons, coal quality, excessive fine coal and Ash penalties/Bonus with SO / SCS and prepare sign off documents
- Report coal projections for next 3 & 6 months to SO / SCS
- Calculate and report Coal budget figures for 2 consecutive financial years to SO / SCS
Required Education & Experience:
- Technician II: Minimum 5 years industrial experience relevant to position/ Process engineering expertise (Must)
- Senior Technician: Minimum 7 years industrial experience relevant to position/ Process engineering expertise (Must)
- Ability to think conceptually, creativity
- TRA’s, Procedure and observation compliance
- Good communication skills (Written and verbal)
- National Diploma (Chemical Eng.) (Must)
- PTRA compliance
- A proficient degree of computer literacy is required to fulfil this position (Must)

- Technician I: Minimum 2 years industrial experience relevant to position/ Process engineering expertise (Must)

- Matric/Gr 12/N3 Certificate with English, Math & Science (Must)
- Be proficient in Pi Process book, MS Excel and Smart Plant Foundation.(Must)
- Ability to coordinate technical interface with operations
