Police Officers exercise full law enforcement authority, including making arrests and enforcing traffic laws in Agency jurisdiction. You are also the primary first responder to all emergencies on Agency facilities. In medical emergencies, you will provide basic first aid, trauma response, CPR, and AED response. Police Officers maintain public order during emergency situations, facilitating safe and thorough evacuations when necessary. In addition to these protective functions, as a Police Officer you will effectively represent the Agency and communicate with members of the public.
SPS provides a full range of high-quality security and police services through a variety of fixed posts, patrol operations, and specialty units. Specialty unit assignments are filled through competitive vacancy processes and include threat management, K-9, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), HAZMAT, security operations, and court liaison.

SPS training includes coursework in police procedures, psychology, police-community relations, criminal law, first aid, laws of arrest, search and seizure, and physical defense techniques.
