People Analytics Business Intelligence Analyst – Chevron Employment

Position Summary:

The function of this role is understanding data in the larger context of the business and the HR value chain to transform data into insights for better decision-making through scientific exploration, analytics, and data. The Business Intelligence Analyst is accountable for leading data analytics initiatives within HR by performing data analysis, translating data requirements to technical requirements, and driving insights to business problems and decisions. In this role, you will analyze complex people data to deliver key insights and timely actionable intelligence for leaders. Will develop business intelligence products, reports, and presentations with the necessary narrative and data story for accurate data interpretation and insights. Will support all diversity, internal and external executive, and compliance related people data reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in data integrity initiatives and networks across the HR Function and with Workday
  • Monitor and test emerging Workday reporting and analytics capabilities and develop recommendations on their utilization or transition within the function.
  • Help frame the business problem by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis (data quality, availability, etc.)
  • Build partnerships with other HR Digital Platform Product Lines in developing reports, reporting standards, and other initiatives that support consistent and accurate reporting of key insights and metrics across the Employee Experience Lifecycle.
  • Participate in the end-to-end product development lifecycle as a member of agile team
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of HR business problems
  • Knowledge of all Workday reporting and analytics capability to provide consulting to customers & stakeholders on what to use when
  • Drive insights to business problems by visualizing the data and telling a story through data (report patterns, trends, anomalies, etc.)
  • Collaborate with HR compliance groups to ensure all reporting meets applicable data privacy rules and regulations.
  • Present findings and new development to help refine backlog items
  • Contribute to data analysis, data wrangling, data visualization, and user acceptance testing to analysis and products built
  • Access, gather, and analyze data from source systems
  • Perform HR Business Consulting by helping HR Function employees use business intelligence and analytics more effectively in their day-to-day roles
  • Maintain and deploy standards for data definitions, calculations, and reporting methodologies through the consistent refresh of the Human Capital Management standard.
  • Support executive reporting including HR Committee people strategy metrics, and complex ad hoc reporting and visualizations.
  • Build and maintain in-depth HR Workday data knowledge and thorough understanding of how HR data is used by the business

Required Education & Experience:

  • Advanced Power BI development skills
  • Data visualization skills in Tableau or Power BI
  • Strong consultative skills and HR business acumen
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google cloud and tools in its ecosystem with proficiency
  • Experience with HCM systems (Workday, SAP Success Factors, etc.) preferably in corporate HR setting (e.g., Organizational
  • Effectiveness, HR Metrics/Analytics, Talent Analytics, Market Research)
  • Listens carefully and asks questions to understand the views, concerns, and comments of others.
  • Great data visualization and data storytelling skills delivering the right interpretations of data with actionable intelligence and insights
  • Strong data set creation and data modeling skills
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and understandable manner both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated depth of experience in Business Intelligence analysis and report development
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Data Science, Management
  • Information Systems, or related Engineering degree
  • Experience with Azure Analytics products
  • 1+ years of demonstrated Experience with HR Reporting, HR People Analytics, Workforce Intelligence, or Learning and Talent analytics
