The MQ Infrastructure Engineering Senior Advisor that will perform engineering tasks for a critical messaging service that includes design, build and run operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive work as a team player and independently on projects to completion.
- Responsible for MQ Support on AIX/RHEL distributed platforms.
- Drive to learn new technologies, share knowledge and mentor others.
- Agile leadership skills and aspirations to be successful leader cross functionally and having ability to work in matrix organization.
- Complete service ownership that includes managing service costs, and communications.
- Planning and design that includes creating roadmaps, strategizing, designing and building highly redundant solution.
- Responsible for MQ Support on z/OS Sysplex, running Queue Sharing Groups.
- Developing MQ platform design and architecture.
- Problem management, root cause analysis, issue triage and stake holder communications.
- Responsible for MQ Support for MQ Clusters, Uniform Clusters, and Multi-instance HA
- Using MQ in Containers on RHEL Openshift.
- Performing software install, patch and version upgrades.
- Using Ansible MQ Automation and scripting.
Required Education & Experience:
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines and 24X7 on call support on a rotation basis.
- 5 or more years of experience with zOS, AIX, RHEL
- Experience with MQ Client and MQ Resource Adapter
- Full understanding of MQI Application Interfaces, prior MQ API programming experience considered a plus
- Experience with other technologies such as Websphere, Agile/Jira, Service Now and other middleware technologies considered a plus.
- High School diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 or more years of equivalent work experience in technology
- Experience with cloud based technologies considered a plus
- Experience with monitoring and dashboarding tools like IR360, Splunk and other system management tools to perform system monitoring and triage activities a plus.
- MQ Engineer with 3 or more years of experience.
- Must have strong communication and documentation skills
- Leadership experience for small to medium teams size.
- College degree in Information Systems or related IT field, or.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible considered a plus
