Position Summary:
We are looking for talented BIM Technicians with water and wastewater sector experience to join our growing team.
Your role as a BIM Technician will be to work collaboratively within a design and build team to deliver the BIM outputs of multiple projects. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your technical and management skills, grow your professional network, and provide you with excellent long-term potential to advance your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the project teams understanding of BIM and where appropriate supervise the work of more junior BIM technicians, providing technical and professional guidance to aid their development.
- Work collaboratively with members of the MMB and Thames Water teams and contribute to creating a positive and engaging environment.
- Contribute to driving an excellence culture in the team, including identifying and addressing competency gaps.
- Deliver CAD/BIM design data and undertake quality control processes.
- Understand Thames Water’s BIM/CAD standards and ensure the BIM/CAD output comply with Thames Water’s standards and quality requirements to achieve acceptance.
- Use 3D modelling to support design collaboration, clash resolution, asset data capture, digital rehearsal and cost capture
- Contribute to development of the CAD/BIM standards.
- Support the development of the common data environment platform and process (Autodesk BIM 360) and manage BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create and develop a standardised BIM element library, to support model reuse and a production approach, including identify affordable and low carbon solutions.
- Take responsibility for cyber security aspects associated with CAD/BIM data and access.
Required Education & Experience:
- Understanding of program, budget and quality requirements.
- Understanding of key principles of information management as set out in ISO 19650.
- Able to collaborate and work effectively within a multidiscipline and diverse team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of working in a common data environment platform and managing BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience of delivering Autodesk BIM/CAD for water, or wastewater, non-infrastructure and infrastructure projects.
- Experience of adopting to change to working processes and adoption new technologies.
- Proactive approach and growth mindset, with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
