Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with other Built Environment teams in Birmingham as well as in other offices.
  • Ensuring adequate resource levels within the team.
  • Design of electrical systems including switchgear, distribution, small power, lighting, fire alarm, security etc.
  • Leading the delivery of projects, accountability of the project delivery team and ensure technical deliverables are on-time and within budget.
  • Provide technical mentorship and contribute to technical Excellence within the team.
  • Ensuring Compliance with the business management system.
  • Be an advocate of sustainable and smart building design.
  • You will be responsible for day to day engineering duties, leading by example, within the electrical team.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Extensive practical technical experience gained through working on projects with a consultant or contractor.
  • Experience of project management and direction.
  • BEng and/or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
  • Good client facing skills.
  • Highly experienced in the use of electrical design software packages such as Trimble ProDesign (Amtech), Relux and/or Dialux.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards it.
  • Ideally experienced in use of AutoCAD and Revit (highly desirable but not essential).
  • Passionate about high standards of excellence and quality assurance.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload as well as that of others.
  • Hold a professional membership with CIBSE or IET or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentation.
