Position Summary:

We are currently recruiting for an Associate Mechanical engineer to join the experienced and growing Building Services team in our Bristol office, to help further develop and promote the office within the local market as well as supporting business growth. The role provides the opportunity to work on an exciting range of projects in both private and public sector, including major framework & infrastructure developments in addition to one-off projects. The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer opportunities for skill set development and career development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will support managers in identifying new business opportunities and have involvement in production of bids and tenders.
  • Undertaking all aspects of Mechanical and Public Health design
  • You will support Mott MacDonald is delivering its social value vision.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders – Support senior managers by contributing to and running the commercial and contractual side of projects
  • Liaising with engineers across the MEP discipline locally and nationally, and you may need to travel to other offices on occasions.
  • You will be involved in all project phases from inception to handover including attendance at sites and liaison with Contractors.
  • You will be a client-facing engineer and will be heavily involved in design team meetings with clients.
  • Support more junior members of the team and act as technical mentor

Required Education & Experience:

  • Have experience at a senior level of mechanical engineering, preferably within a consultancy business.
  • Have experience of working on large building projects (£5M+)
  • Have experience in understanding 3D modelling environment and negotiate reasonable LoD duties for projects.
  • Be degree-qualified in Mechanical engineering or building services engineering
  • Have previous management experience and the ability to grow a team.
  • Be a Chartered engineer
  • Preferably have knowledge of IES and thermal modelling
  • Have experience in sustainability and BREEAM
