Position Summary:
This is an opportunity to further develop your analytical skills with innovative projects in a large organisation working across multiple services that will help deliver better services for millions of citizens. You should already be confident at manipulating and analysing datasets and in communicating the results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modelling: develop and interpret data models using agile methodology and modern tools and platforms, such as R, Python, SQL, Power BI, GitHub, or cloud data services.
- Embed new best practice: Find and share best practices to support the development of the team.
- Data visualisation: Reporting and visualising different types of quantitative information in an accessible way tailored to a target audience of senior decision makers.
- Stakeholder engagement: clearly communicating, verbally and in writing, the key messages of complex ideas and concepts to a variety of audiences.
Required Education & Experience:
- Eligibility to join, or membership in an Analytical Profession (for example Government Operational Research Service (GORS), Government Statistical Service (GSS), Government Economic Service (GES), or Digital, Data and Technology (DDAT)).Membership – Government Analysis Function – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
- Data analysis skills: Knowledge and experience of data preparation, exploration analysis; application of statistical and/or modelling methodologies; presentation of results using good visualisations.
- Developing data analysis solutions: Experience with a modern analytical tool, for example R, Python or SQL.
- Achieving impact with analysis. A problem-solving approach with curiosity and proactivity to engage and understand both the strategic business goals and our customer’s needs.

- Interpersonal skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
