Position Summary:
Under direct supervision, this job seeks for the candidate to apply basic engineering principles to support everyday operations and special projects. As part of the Meter Engineering team, the Intern will have the opportunity to work safely with different metering technologies and learn more about industry and FPL standards and best practices. The position includes hands on activities to support qualification, acceptance, root cause analysis and feasibility of existing and new industry technology. Candidates must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Completes challenging projects and assignments
- Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
- Conduct supervised technology investigations associated and produce reports
- Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
- Support Meter Engineering team on new meter shipment acceptance testing process
- Review and update work instructions, process flows and operating procedures
- Assists department with assigned projects
- Learn and practice FPL safety culture and corporate values
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Support Six Sigma projects
- Learn and perform electromagnetic compatibility, accuracy, temperature humidity and functional testing on metering devices
Required Education & Experience:
- Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
- High school grad / GED
- Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
