Position Summary:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
Required Education & Experience:

Completion of one of the following programs: master’s degree in Psychology; master’s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master’s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master’s degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.

Minimum two years related experience with all ages of clients experiencing mental health problems. Working knowledge of suicide and crisis intervention and the Alberta Mental Health Act. Working knowledge of mental health problems and evidence-based interventions.

Demonstrated assessment skills and dedication to client-focused care. Working knowledge of medications as related to psychiatric issues. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Working knowledge of the community and mental health resources. Training and/or experience in suicide and crisis intervention: Suicide Risk Assessment Certificate or equivalent. Valid driver’s license.
