Position Summary:

Based in San Francisco, California, the Market Specialist – Northwest & Hawaii, is responsible for increasing overall sales volume across all independent accounts and department store accounts. The Market Specialist maximizes and elevates the Gucci image by visual merchandising, implementing product training, and providing in-store sales support within each point of sale (POS) for their market. Other responsibilities include maintaining successful relationships with accounts and proactively proposing marketing initiatives, events etc. to the regional team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for direct sales through prospecting new accounts and selling to specific independent accounts;
  • Conduct regular and ongoing trainings, both, informal in-store, and formal regional trainings;
  • Provide unparalleled customer service and follow up to each retailer;
  • Work in conjunction with the Sales Manager to drive and develop business through regular review of sales trends, seasonal projections, and proposals;
  • Look critically at stock level and suggest replenishment for independent accounts to the regional sales manager, and the national’s team, for department stores;
  • Merchandise each POS in adherence of corporate guidelines to maximize sales and brand exposure;
  • Adhere to all company budgets, policies, and procedures;
  • Build and strengthen relationships with sales and management teams in your market;
  • Responsible for personal and training travel and expense budgets.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with client (i.e., sales stats, marketing initiatives and brand updates), using the store metrics phone app at each visit;
  • Spend time in store/field to support the independent and national retailers’ business through training and merchandising;
  • Merchandise each POS in adherence of corporate guidelines, maximizing sales and brand exposure;
  • Coordinate in-store needs for seasonal sales campaigns and events – i.e., Trunk Shows, Sales Incentives, Peak season sales support;
  • Work closely with all internal stakeholders: Client Engagement, Finance, Operations, and Brand Engagement to ensure corporate guidelines and procedures are followed;
  • Frequent travel to specified markets to prospect, take orders and service/ train the accounts’ points of sale;
  • Responsible for follow up on replenishment actions;
  • Update sales associates and store personnel of all product references, new product launches, core assortments, advertising, technical information of product portfolios- i.e., utilizing all tools to maximize the sales potential;
  • Work with store employees in conjunction with marketing team, to develop and grow brand’s visual presence within the store and mall/vicinity;

Required Education & Experience:

  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle;
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Have a proven track record of achieving sales goals;
  • Frequent travel within local market and occasional domestic/international travel;
  • Residency in local market or market knowledge;
  • 2 years related experience;
  • Strong retail fashion/luxury background;
