Position Summary:
Chevron Australia Downstream is seeking to appoint a Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of maintenance and project related work activities across the NT & WA, including Retail service station sites, Commercial Assets and Regional Fuel Depots. Reporting to the Team Lead Maintenance and Construction, this exciting opportunity will be based in Darwin with regular domestic travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with internal stakeholders (senior management) along with external service providers to ensure excellent communication of maintenance expectations and scheduled works to be conducted within the region.
- Manages all OEHES processes and ensuring compliance. Ensures that Safe Work Practices are understood and implemented, by both internal and external maintenance providers.
- Manages the NT Maintenance Team (Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Technician/s) and oversees all maintenance and project related work activities across the NT & WA; includes Retail service station sites, Commercial Assets and Regional Fuel Depots as per business plans.
- Ensures Operational Excellence by providing assistance to communicate OEHES awareness within the Team and ensuring compliance of relevant processes, applicable HES policy and local regulations.
- Prepares business cases and manages the approval processes for Capital expenditure. Develops maintenance strategies, plans, schedules, and controls for all maintenance activities across the region (NT/WA).
- Develops and approves quality criteria and technical specifications within the Scope of Works within NT/WA relative to the maintenance and project activities being undertaken by the maintenance team.
- Ensure that all maintenance works are completed on time and within budget, to meet required standards and ensure compliance with OEHES. Approves payment for maintenance invoices and monitors costs according to budget and Business Plan.
- Identifies opportunity for continuous improvement of the maintenance strategy for the business. Manages and oversees the execution of all maintenance activities to optimize resources, service levels, uptime of sites and management of costs.
Required Education & Experience:
- Strong technical skills.
- Trade qualification in a maintenance related field (preferred, but not essential).
- The ability to Coach, Train and Mentor staff.
- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Very good problem solving skills: ability to anticipate issues and resolve problems.
- Leadership ability to resolve conflicts, ensure the team is motivated to meet and exceed performance expectations.
- Results orientated.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a maintenance related role.
- A minimum of 3 years management / supersvisor experience in a maintenance related role.
- Ability to think laterally.
- Degree or Diploma in Asset Management, Maintenance Management or an associated field of engineering expertise (preferred, but not essential).
- Knowledge of OEHES requirements and responsibilities.
- Proven commercial experience including the development of Maintenance Plans and Budgets and the analysis and interpretation of financial results (understand and read a P&L statement).
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to produce reporting to Management.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Minimum Intermediate Level Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
- Experience in the Fuel / Oil / Petroleum industry (preferred, but not essential).
- Relevant technical and/or commercial qualifications.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
