Position Summary:

In this role, you will be expected to safely perform all associated tasks with the construction, maintenance, and restoration of all overhead and underground facilities (excluding vaults, manholes, and hot compounds).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel throughout Florida in cases of emergencies and storms, to restore power.
  • Responsible for ensuring all jobs assigned are worked in accordance with company design standards and work methods.
  • Support projects requiring extended work hours in inclement weather
  • Support either Transmission or Distribution Units
  • May work alone or as part of a crew supervising a lower classification such as a groundworker, apprentice, or helper.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all distribution and transmission circuits and equipment and prepare all associated paperwork.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Pole Top Rescue Certification
  • Bucket Truck Rescue Certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable work experience as a Journeyman Class 1 or A level craft worker
  • Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment
  • Proficient with live line maintenance (gloving) up to twenty-five (25) KV and the use of hot sticks for all voltages
  • Completion of the Gulf Power apprentice program or another accredited apprenticeship program
  • Able to work in direct sunlight or at night
  • Tower Rescue Certification
  • Physically able to perform all assigned tasks
  • Climbing skills
