Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and preparing a wide range of samples submitted for analysis and performing established analytical procedures;
- Following the Quality Assurance (QA) system and Laboratory Safety Program of the work unit;
- Maintaining, calibrating and operating general laboratory equipment;
- Operating a computer and associated software used to enter and update data.
Required Education & Experience:
- Secondary school diploma from a recognized institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a laboratory environment.
- Experience in applying an ISO 17025 management system.
- Experience working in biocontainment facilities for different purposes.
- Experience in using common laboratory equipment e.g. microscope, balance, centrifuge, sterilizer.
- Experience using spreadsheets and database computer software programs such as Microsoft Suite Office (MS Word, Excel, and Access) or LIMS.
- Experience in handling and processing samples following standardized protocols preferably in a laboratory environment.
- Experience in preparation and quality control of media and reagents.
- Experience working in a regulatory testing environment.
