Position Summary:

Design, configure, and support the integrated components of the AHS Server Compute Infrastructure for highest attainable levels of system reliability, availability, and maintainability. Coordinate and lead project and initiative implementation work conducted by Technology Services staff as well as manage the response to project issues involving the department. Plan and coordinate with cross functional teams (technical, systems, business, vendors, etc) to assess problem scope, impact, and characteristics. Identify IT department improvements and lead initiatives to improve internal process effectiveness as well as technology automation. Provides strategic planning for major IT infrastructure that are sustainable for growth and costs. Participate in setting and reaching IT goals. Provide leadership and mentorship for colleagues with less experience and where appropriate provide or suggests more efficient work approaches. Foster a collaborative relationship with infrastructure and enterprise architecture teams. Understand, develop and document design requirements and considerations. Represent the team on Major Incidents, assists in the recovery from high profile, complex solution outages. Act as escalation point for incident and problem management for more junior staff. Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and major incident call-outs, as required.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Sciences, or related discipline or a mix of related training and experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive Unix/Linux server technology experience in a large and complex IT environment.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with Red Hat Linux or IBM AIX.
  • Minimum 5 years of Unix/Linux scripting experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading and managing small to medium sized IT infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.
  • ITIL and Unix/Linux related certifications.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux high availability architectures and concepts.
  • Experience with Ansible config mgmt., Zabbix monitoring software.
  • Experience with Oracle Identity Suite, Tomcat and LDAP products.
  • Experience with Unix Virtualization LDOM/LPAR is desired.
  • Experience providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Experience with Linux container.
  • Team Leadership experience.
