Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities with internal/external technology owners/service providers
  • Install, customize, maintain, test and fix operating systems and other systems software
  • Stay ahead of industry and technology trends
  • Provide technical support, as needed, to the enterprise
  • Design and document enterprise standards and procedures
  • Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions and to prevent recurring problems
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies for enterprise use to consistently drive down total cost of ownership
  • Implement releases, upgrades and/or changes into the environment
  • Analyze, design, and document platforms/systems to meet enterprise requirements
  • Implement changes to platforms with minimal impact to the business by following enterprise standards and procedures
  • Assist in implementing releases, upgrades and/or changes into the environment
  • Configure, install, maintain, test and troubleshoot hardware systems
  • Perform technical reviews comparing enterprise standard platform components with that of their leading industry competitors
  • Understand technical/business requirements captured from the business units
  • Ensure platforms/systems conform to established enterprise/industry standards (systems management, security, operating systems, etc.) and reference models
  • Provide on-site and on-call 7x24x365 support, as needed
  • Responsible for assisting in the design, testing, evaluation, implementation and support for various platforms of low complexity (hardware, operating systems, software, and systems tools)
  • Provide consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and systems programming.
  • Collaborate with other business units (e.g. application groups, DBAs, middleware, etc.) to configure platforms for product installation
  • Ensure platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration and tuning
  • Plan and implement life cycle management of software and hardware
  • Responsible for the design, testing, evaluation, implementation, and support of various platforms (hardware, operating systems, software and systems tools)
  • Provides consultation and direct technical support in 1 or more of the following: life cycle planning, problem management, integration or systems programming
  • Ensures platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning with minimal supervision or assistance

Required Education & Experience:

  • Ability to think outside the box, ask critical questions, embrace automation, and own a problem to resolution
  • Experience with desktop client utilities like: VPN tools such as Global Protect and Zscaler Client, HP Drive utilities, Microsoft Endpoint
  • Manager, 1E Nomad client, Command-Line, and Various Windows tools
  • Ability to work remote or onsite in offices located in downtown Chicago and Northwest Suburbs as needed
  • Accountable to adhere to break/lunch schedules and ensure signed into phone support system to help technicians and weekend on-call rotation responsibilities
  • Familiar with Microsoft Sharepoint, MS Office 365 Suite and Tools, MS Teams and other Collaboration Tools
  • BS/BA, preferably in Information Technology or Business or equivalent experience, education, or training
  • Flexible to work a hybrid schedule between the hours of 6am to 6pm
  • 3+ years usage of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Shell, Python, Bash
  • Associate’s degree or industry certification in an applicable IT field, in addition to two years of appropriate experience in the design/administration/support of one or more platforms; or Bachelor’s degree in an IT field, in addition to one year applicable experience; or four years equivalent experience
  • Provided level 2 technical support for enterprise-wide airport technicians and vendor technicians
  • 3+ year Functional knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills to resolve issues with hardware such as HP and DELL laptops, desktop, and Apple, Android mobile devices like tablets and phones of different operating systems
  • Familiar with configuration management tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager or VMware WorkspaceOne (Airwatch)
  • Ability to track & monitor chronic issues independently and report updates to team, or leadership
  • Maintain composure under pressure and align with company’s core values when communicating to others
  • 3+ years hands on technical support of various operating systems including: (Windows 7, Window 10, Android, iOS)
  • Experience with printers and other network devices, install and troubleshoot driver issues
  • Familiar with network OSI model and ability to convert/translate IP addressing or MAC addressing from static to DNS entries in IP Management Tools
  • Familiar with Citrix virtual workstations and Citrix director
  • Ability to work in lab environment which may require lifting, bending, sitting, standing
  • Experience with Active Directory Host Records and Group Policies
