Position Summary:

The incumbent serves as a Lead Systems Administrator/Project Manager supporting business operations in the Fresno IT Automation & Integration Unit. The incumbent is based in the Fresno Headquarters office and provides local and statewide support, leadership and expertise for Caltrans business units. The incumbent should understand usability, accessibility and application development best practices; and act as subject matter expert over developing, testing, deploying, monitoring and maintaining systems pertaining to the Caltrans web application environment, including but not limited to HTML Websites, Custom Web Applications using C#, ASP.NET, SQL Database Design/Development and Support. Provides lead administrative and technical support on various systems, SQL databases, operating systems, applications, web configurations, etc. The incumbent provides end user training in the configuration and use of web technologies. The incumbent collaborates with peers and management to update and recommend standards, as well as documenting processes and procedures, and technology practices.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Describe a specific IT project that you completed and demonstrated your ability to plan the work, complete the work as planned, solve technical problems, and communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management.
  • Describe your experience, with examples, in leading a project team, scheduling, coordinating deliverables, and managing stakeholders’ expectations within an IT project implementation.
  • Describe and provide examples of your professional experience working as a lead, developing Web Based applications utilizing .NET technologies or similar Programming Languages with SQL or similar databases. What were the challenges, how did you overcome those challenges?
