Position Summary:

To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to E.O. 14043 does not currently apply as of the date of this job opportunity announcement. ICE will request information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols, such as protocols related to masking, physical distancing, testing, travel, and quarantine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining customer hardware and software;
  • Planning, and performing difficult/complex assignments and developing new methods, approaches, and procedures.
  • Analyzing statutory requirements against existing directives to assess the degree of change necessary to comply with new requirements;
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous; thoroughly reviews and proofreads various IT related data/information; dedicates focus to accomplish tasks that are complete, precise, and accurate to a given IT situation.
  • Researching, evaluating, and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements;
  • Analyzing feasibility studies, proposals, and in-depth analysis of current requirements and forecast trends for future support contracts and infrastructure needs;
  • Managing customer service performance requirements; and
  • Diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents;
  • Coordinating IT infrastructure projects while disseminating existing policy to customers, and developing mechanisms to measure policy effectiveness and compliance when building new environments;
  • Customer Service: Works with clients and to assess IT needs, provide expert technical information or assistance, resolve complex or non-routine problems, or satisfy expectations; knowledge of available products and services; committed to providing quality IT products and services.
  • Oral Communication: Expresses technical information to individuals or groups effectively, considering the audience and nature of the information makes clear and convincing presentations; listens to others, recognizes potential miscommunication, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Developing and documenting systems administration standards and Information Technology operating procedures for the agency.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies IT related problems using a variety of materials or sources; gathers and applies technical information to determine accuracy and relevance to moderately complex problems; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives; makes decisions or recommendations that influence IT policies or programs and applies new developments to previously unresolved problems.
  • Managing networks rights, and agency wide access to systems and equipment; implementing security procedures and tools; and

Required Education & Experience:

  • You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
  • Time in Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade in the Federal service. Time in grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Males born after 12/31/59 must certify registration with Selective Service.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation.

  • Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
  • You must successfully pass a drug screen.
