Incoming Quality Technician – Tesla Hiring

Position Summary:

We are seeking motivated and sharp individuals to join our growing incoming quality team. This is a fast-paced environment where materials and process development is driving constant change. You will be working alongside the production and engineering teams to drive rapid improvements and sustainability of the line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate potential problems and take preventative action.
  • Monitor quality, determine the root cause of problems and implement corrective actions and countermeasures.
  • Rapidly communicate emerging and trending quality issues.
  • Analyze and interpret data independently.
  • Execute timely corrective action for quality mitigation and containment.
  • Take part in an ongoing optimization of the products with respect to both cost and production technology.
  • Flexibility for dynamic changes in day to day work as it pertains to daily quality priorities.
  • Support FMEA activities to ensure design and manufacturing issues are identified and risks mitigated.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, with manufacturing and external suppliers.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, process, and quality teams to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support investigation, containment and execution for strategic quality issues.
  • Analyze and disposition component and product defects as a member of the Material Review Board.
  • Operate in the ‘inspect, diagnose and repair’ mindset.
  • Maintain quality performance metrics and drive issues to root cause solutions.
  • Coach and trainer to associates regarding quality, repair and rectification.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of manufacturing quality issues, contain parts or products as needed, sort parts for quality requirements.
  • Audit manufacturing line against released manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Comprehend current production quality trends based on dashboards or from occurrences in the line.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in operational use and maintenance of a wide variety of hand power tools, shop tools, and automotive and electrical test equipment
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the  course of work to include the public
  • Work in a team-based environment and achieve common goal
  • Associate Degree or certificate in Automotive Technology, preferred
  • Dealer Management System(s), Outlook, and MS Office
  • Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of basic automotive techniques related to repair and servicing of automobiles
  • Retail automotive service experience, preferred
  • Must have two years of driving experience
  • Willingness to learn new and innovative automotive technologies
