Job Overview:

An excellent opportunity exists to join DoubleTree by Hilton Karaka as our Operations Manager. We are looking for an energetic individual who will be responsible for the effective operational management of the Hotel so the hotel achieves and exceeds their revenue and Guest satisfaction targets.

What you’ll do:

An Operations Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Ensures highest levels of customer satisfaction and standards.
  • Comply and exceed hotel and company Service Standards.
  • Hold regular briefings and communication meetings with the team.
  • Ensure that costs are controlled throughout the operational departments and results are analysed regularly to highlight problem areas and take appropriate action.
  • Assist the development of meaningful, achievable hotel budgets and strategic goals.
  • Provide effective leadership to the hotel management team and team members to ensure targets are met and exceeded.
  • Seek and respond to Guest feedback in order to achieve positive outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Work in conjunction with the Hotel Manager to actively manage key property areas (including capital projects; customer service; refurbishment), maximisation of revenues and profits, minimisation of operating costs, implementation and follow up of service standards/staff training to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
  • Manage and develop the team to ensure career progression and effective succession planning within the hotel and company.

What you’ll have:

  • Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals and forecasting results
  • In-depth knowledge of the hotel / leisure / service sector
  • Accountable and resilient
  • Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
  • Strong commercial acumen, preferably with experience in Food and Beverage Department
  • Previous experience in the same or similar role
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high level of perform and exceed targets
  • A degree or diploma in Hotel Management or revelant experience
  • Ability to work under pressure
