Job Overview:

Iconic 587-room Hilton Sydney is located steps from Town Hall station and the QVB Light Rail stop and amongst our operations we are home to one of the largest Conferencing and Event spaces in the city, chefs hatted restaurant glass brasserie and heritage listed Marble Bar. As a Sales Manager at Hilton Sydney you will be responsible for soliciting business and maximising revenue potential from selected Corporates, Professional Conference Organisers and Event Companies as determined by the Hotel’s revenue plan strategies, delivering both events and accommodation business for Hilton Sydney.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop an annual strategy plan for account portfolio in conjunction with your Director of Sales
  • Ensure databases are kept up to date and hold accurate information, including and not limited to entering and actioning all activities are followed up in a timely manner and the results of such are recorded.
  • Attend Sales trips, Trade shows and Networking functions as deemed appropriate
  • Analyse and exchange information on a regular basis with your team, and if relevant with other sales team members, to assist with revenue plans, rate views and further generate revenue potential.
  • Be aware of the competition information and market trends to plan and execute strategy of your managed accounts, and meet target for Hilton Sydney in line with Sales Incentive Plan.
  • Identify and proactively manage a core set of PCOs, Corporate and Leisure accounts, focusing on acquisition and retention of accounts along with identifying new accounts to achieve pre-determined goals and budgets.
  • Initiate, co-ordinate and host client entertainment, site inspections and familiarisation trips to enhance rapport with clients, industry network and Hilton Sales network generate revenue.
  • Ensure relationships are built at all levels of the organizational structure of the customer, as well as Hilton sales network within Australia and globally, to ensure Hilton Sydney is presented in all markets.
  • Submit weekly and/or monthly plan and activity reports including confirmed and provisional business, noting activities completed and required to achieve the outcome.

  • Preferable tertiary qualifications
  • Ability to be customer focussed and find solutions to exceed client requirements
  • Demonstrates positive involvement and interaction with the overall Hilton team both at an individual, team & management level
  • Self motivated and able to work effectively without supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in sales, preferably in a hotel environment
  • Strong administration and communication skills
