Job Overview:

This position manages the hotel revenue management plans by recommending growth efforts, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the hotel is competitively positioned within the local marketplace. You will work together with Reservations, Groups, Conference, Events and Sales teams for all aspects of Revenue generation and inventory management. You will be responsible for strategies and activities aimed at obtaining the highest possible RevPAR and yield for the hotel.
This position will be the key business partner to the Commercial Team for all revenue decision making and requires exceptional stakeholder management.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintenance of Systems & Procedures – Maximise the use of systems and maintain accuracy of all bookings, productions and other data.
  • Ensure credit policy is adhered to for all bookings and that all payments are received in the correct time frame.
  • Monitor revenue variance daily, to identify areas of concern and review with Commercial Director to adjust selling strategies accordingly
  • Manage and lead the team through day-to-day revenue movements, as well as strategically guide the commercial team to achieve organisational goals
  • Actively participate in the key strategic management plans for the four hotels (e.g. planned refurbishment, business improvement campaigns).
  • Daily credit check and follow-up.
  • Work closely with Groups and Reservations Manager to identify areas of concerns and groups updates.
  • Review and advice on airline contracts and long term billings.
  • Work with the Commercial Director to design the business strategy for the NT Cluster hotels.
  • Actively support the hotel by providing advice, support and training in upselling and cross selling skills to Front Desk and F&B team members.
  • Reviews Group/Event/A/R ageing monthly with Finance and prepares follow up.
  • Competently use, and control the quality of, various hotel systems, such as (but not limited to) OnQ/Opera Property Management System, Ideas, Delphi, OnQ R&I
  • Monitors production and profitability of sales packages and marketing offers.
  • Supervise daily billings and filing.
  • Produces the annual Revenue Plan and forecasts in conjunction with Hotel Team.
  • Work closely with Catering and Events Manager to establish strategy and procedure for Space control, Response rates, Occupancy statistics for all conference/banquet rooms, Inquiry conversion statistics and improvement when needed, Creation of Events to fill need periods
  • Ensure that effective processes are in place for the recruitment, induction, training and development of all revenue management people in the hotel.
  • Monthly review of expenses and if needed, adjusted.
