Job Overview:

The Assistant Cluster Commercial Manager will work with the Commercial Director whilst shouldering responsibility for all business development activities for Hilton Northern Territory Cluster hotels. This role will assist with the planning and execution of the commercial strategy and activity through supporting the Revenue management team, Sales, Catering and Events, Marketing, eCommerce and Public Relations teams, through working effectively with area support teams. The Assistant Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving commercial strategies covering all segments and channels to maximize total revenue and profit performance as well as market share penetration of the hotel.

What you’ll do:

  • Outbound Sales – Promotes business for other Hilton Hotels.
  • Develop the right Account Plans to repurpose teams to ensure that sales resources are mobilised to drive market share from Key Accounts with the highest potential.
  • Actively seek out new sources of business.
  • Ensure that effective processes are in place for the recruitment, induction, training and development of all customers facing sales, marketing and revenue management people in the hotel.
  • On an annual basis identify the key retention and acquisition accounts for each salesperson.
  • Developing and executing commercial strategies along with the Cluster Commercial Director covering all segments and channels to maximise total revenue and profit performance as well as market share penetration.
  • Meet agreed targets on room nights/C&C Revenue.
  • Develop and manage appropriate travel manager/booker programs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, owners, hotel teams, Hilton Sales team, and CDT team.
  • Ensure that measurement systems are in place to track the production of all targeted accounts.
  • Develop key account management which increases Hilton’s market power and closer matches the way customers choose to buy for CORP, Leisure and MICE.
  • Spot talent within the team and develop them for future increased responsibility.
  • Support the Cluster Revenue Manager and RMCC to establish an optimal mix, review and validate forecasts, develop strategies for different demand periods, and review and approve retail and group pricing strategies.
  • Produces the annual Revenue Plan, S&M budgets and forecasts in conjunction with the Cluster Commercial Director and the Hotel Team.
  • Provide accurate, monthly reports on sales leads and revenue for collation with the monthly reports for the Cluster Commercial Manager/RMCC.
  • Assisting in developing the hotel’s annual/quarterly/monthly budget forecast and work plans, implementing them effectively.
  • Encourage the movement of sales revenue, events and marketing people around the department and between Hilton hotels.

What you’ll have:

  • Knowledgeable and skilled in crisis management
  • Good communication, organisational and presentation skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar capacity with international chain hotels
  • An innovative self-starter with high motivation
  • Able to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
