Job Overview:

A Sales Manager pro-actively sources new business for the hotel from the UK, developing relationships with agents and direct clients to keep the hotel a leader in the marketplace.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop customer accounts and travel nationally to develop relationships as required to drive business
  • Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the Sales Director and senior management to include the reporting of appointments, calls made and business leads
  • Working alongside the on-site groups, conference and events team to ensure the customer journey from enquiry handling through to completion is seamless
  • Attend Sales events, as required
  • Answer customer queries in a prompt and professional manner
  • Managing relationships with unmanaged conference agents
  • Develop solid relationships with the Hilton Worldwide Sales teams
  • Work within current business strategies and recognising potential opportunities
  • Host client FAM trips at the hotel
  • Maintain and up to date knowledge of national businesses and develop relationship to drive share in all segments, ie MICE, group, corporate and transient. This position will have a large focus on MICE.
  • Generating 8 face to face sales appointments per week
  • Negotiate room rates/packages with corporate clients and prepare contracts accordingly

What you’ll have:

  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Positive attitude and good communication skills
  • A full UK driving licence is required for this role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of working with UK MICE Agents, association and experience in conducting hotel presentations
  • Excellent grooming standards
  • Passion for sales and achieving targets
  • Ability to work under pressure and under own initiative
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
  • Experience in a UK based hotel sales manager role with a proven track record to close a sale
  • Experience in a field-based sales role would be advantageous
